A new view of Vienna
Apartments at Sans Souci start at €600,000 (£500,000) for one bedroom, around €1.5 million (£1.2 million) for three bedrooms and €8 million (£6.6 million) for a penthouse.
“This is the right time to make the chic, cosmopolitan, urban hideaway hotel,” says Angela Fuchs, who will be Sans Souci’s manager. So small, exquisitely tooled and convenient is it that she calls it the hotel equivalent of the smartphone. There has been hype. The world’s press have flown in, television cameras are here, but all we see is a graffiti-ridden concrete site full of dust and builders. Even so, such is the international profile of Yoo, the reputation of Norbert and the charm of the city (voted most liveable in the world by the Mercer 2011 Quality of Living Survey) that eight of the 15 flats have already been sold. Norbert’s art collection, including Picassos and Lichtensteins, will be on the walls.
