Rose bushes in San Jose's Heritage Rose Garden available for adoption for moms
It's never too early to start planning for Mother's Day, particularly if you'd like your gift to reflect thoughtful consideration.
One idea from the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy is to gift moms and other special women in your life with a rosebush.
Not a bush they would have to worry about watering and deadheading, but a bush in the Heritage Rose Garden with her name on a personalized plaque next to it for the coming year.
It's easily done by visiting www.grpg.org and clicking on the Mother's Day icon, or calling Phil Cornish at 408.298.7657.
The gift package is $50, and in addition to the plaque, it includes a package of potpourri made from roses in the garden, a chocolate truffle from Schurra's Fine Confections, a bar of scented soap from Renee's Handmade Soap and a gift card for one free long-stem rose a month from Citti's Florist.
GRPC takes care of packaging everything up with a gift card announcing the adoption.
If purchased by May 1, GRPC will have the plaque in place by Mother's Day, May 13, so you can take her to see it.
