Gerald Goebel
BRYAN -- Gerald P. Goebel, 66, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 9:04 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Community Health Professionals In-Patient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio, where he was a patient, after an illness of two years.
Mr. Goebel was a 1965 graduate of Bryan High School and had been employed at Spangler Candy Company for 21 years, then at Kamco from where he retired. For over 20 years, he worked at the Bryan Theatre as a projector operator and also worked at Wick's Par-T-Pak in Bryan. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Bryan AMVETS Post 54 and Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233, an avid pool player and fan of the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys.
Gerald P. Goebel was born on July 9, 1945, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Paul and Helen (Linhart) Goebel.
Survivors include two daughters, Lori (Junior) Garcia and Angie (Cory) Fackler, both of Bryan; six grandchildren, Joshua (Jacki) Schmitt, Jamie Blalock, Kyle Summers, and Zachary, Drew and Chase Fackler; two brothers, Richard (Carol) Goebel and Kenneth (Donna) Goebel, both of Bryan; three sisters, Jean (Wayne) Goodlive, of Montpelier, Ohio, Charlotte (Mark) Bernath, of West Unity, Ohio, and Carolyn (Joe) Kolb, of Ayersville, Ohio; and his former wife and longtime companion, Dianne Goebel, of Bryan.
