If you've ever stood in the supermarket, holding a jar of horseradish and wondering, "Wait, is that kosher?" -- take a great big leap into the 21st century. Technologically savvy members of the Jewish faith can get kosher tips from their smartphones. In addition, high-end Seder fare has grown to include upscale, gourmet and organic kosher products. Here's a sampling of the new and noteworthy, in plenty of time for Passover:
The Kosher App: The Orthodox Union's new, free OU Kosher app for iPhones and Androids is intended to spare grocery shoppers any is-it-or-isn't-it angst as they browse the aisles. The app gives you the lowdown on Passover foods that have been certified kosher, new product
alerts, Q&As and an information hotline. Search for it on iTunes (tricky) or get there directly via the link at www.ou.org/apps (much, much easier).
