Now MarieBelle Chocolates is famous worldwide for the gorgeous and delicious chocolate confections. In fact, her first business, Lunettes et Chocolat (Eye Glasses and Chocolate), that she opened in collaboration with a friend of hers, an eye glasses designer, closed down soon after 9/11. She created MarieBelle Chocolates at a time when not many people were opening any businesses downtown Manhattan (not long after after 9/11).
