Old world, old time, made new: At The Pharmacy Burger Parlor and Beer Garden, three dining traditions converge in seamless fashion.
Partners Cees Brinkman and the Raley brothers, Terrell and Trent, have transformed a former day care around the corner from their East Nashville restaurant Holland House to embrace the best of this, a diverse yet complementary trio: a turn-of-the-last century American drugstore soda fountain, a German beer hall-beer garden and a Texas Ice House.
Would you like a ginger ale, lightly fizzed, with real ginger bite, or a creamy draft root beer float? You can hop onto a stool at the soda rail and watch the barkeep concoct the fountain treat.
How about a classic brat with housemade kraut and sharp mustard? Or a two-fisted, hand-smashed burger on a floury bun dripping with mushroom béchamel and caramelized onions? Grab one of the cedar tables inside the dining hall or one of the 14 Euro-sourced picnic tables in the backyard and dig in.
